Lack of coordination is the gene of Chinese culture. Affected by ancient imperial examination system, students have less consciousness of team spirit. There is only one champion in the imperial examination. Students always look at others as competitors so that they seldom arise a sense of team work.They are afraid of being falling behind of others. When students are in a team, what they are thinking about is not how to make things go smooth, but how to show important they are to this team. High school students in China are accustomed to do or think by themselves. Therefore, when ordered to do team work, they usually feel awkward and at a loss. Examination-oriented education does not help to foster their ability of team work. Instead, all they need to do in their schooldays is just study. Activities which need to be accomplished through team work are very deficient.When students graduate from high school, it’s hard to require them get used to the working mode of team work all of a sudden. Higher education pay more attention to team work than before. Just as mentioned above, students have been developed to be independent enough to do anything. They seldom consider to ask others for help even they are in trouble. In other words, their vanity doesn’t allow them to make them to be inferior to others. Chinese students are always learning about competition, but seldom taught to cooperate with team mates. They try to make them more intelligent than others in almost everywhere. Team work is no exception.
