8月29日晚，南航一名空姐称，在合肥飞往广州的南航CZ3874航班遭到广州市越秀区委方大国殴打和辱骂。有消息称，方大国已于9月2日被停职检查，接受组织进一步处理。

A senior district official in China's southern metropolis of Guangzhou has been suspended from his post for allegedly beating an air attendant, sources said Monday.
本周一，有消息称，广州市一位区级干部因涉嫌殴打空姐一事已被停职。
这位官员为屡被提及的职务分别为越秀区委以及political commissar of the Yuexiu Armed Forces Department(越秀区武装部政委)，被殴打的“空姐”可以用air attendant、air hostess以及stewardess来表示。飞机上的“空乘人员”多用flight attendants或cabin crew表示。双方因为方大国carry-on luggage(随身行李)的放置而产生矛盾，进而方大国一方have a brawl with the air attendant(与空姐发生了肢体冲突)。
To suspend someone from one’s post就是“停职”，多用被动的形式表达“某人被停职”。另外，suspend也用于学校对学生的处分，表示“停学”，如：John was suspended for a year from school after cheating in final exam.(约翰因考试作弊而被停学一年。)

重庆市人民政府原副市长、公安局原局长王立军涉嫌徇私枉法、叛逃、滥用职权、受贿犯罪一案，近日已由四川省成都市人民检察院依法向成都市中级人民法院提起公诉。

Wang Lijun, Chongqing's former vice-mayor and police chief, has been charged with bending the law for selfish ends, defection, abuse of power and bribe-taking by the Chengdu City People's Procuratorate.
重庆市原副市长、公安局原局长王立军涉嫌徇私枉法、叛逃、滥用职权、受贿犯罪一案，已由成都市人民检察院提起公诉。
公诉的四项罪名分别为徇私枉法(bending the law for selfish ends)、叛逃(defection)、滥用职权(abuse of power/power abuse)，以及受贿(bribe-taking)。
检察机关指出，王立军在履行职务期间，without the approval of authorities (未经批准)或forging approval documents(伪造批准文件)，非法使用technical reconnaissance measures(技术侦察措施)。

香港特区居民近期发起的hunger strike(绝食)和class boycott(罢课)等活动都呼吁withdrawal of MNE(取消德育及国民教育)。特区行政长官表示，就是否scrap the subject(取消该课程)，there are still many possibilities to be discussed(仍有很大讨论空间)。
