Steven is talking with Julia about the thing he met in the morning.
史蒂文正在和茱莉娅谈论他早上遇到的事情。
Steven: Julia, I saw two men fighting beside our door this morning.
史蒂文：茱莉娅，我今天早上看到有两个人在我们家门前打架。
Julia: I know them. They are the two brothers living next door.
茱莉娅：我认识他们，他们是住在隔壁的两兄弟。
Steven: Brothers? Do you know why they quarreled?
史蒂文：兄弟?你知道他们为什么吵架吗?
Julia: It's said that the father's will caused the dissension among the two brothers.
茱莉娅：据说是他们父亲的遗嘱引起了两兄弟的不和。
Steven: Is there anybody acting as mediator in the dispute?
史蒂文：有人为他们调解争端吗?
Julia: No, everyone keeps in mind that 'Don't intrude in a family dispute'.

Steven meets Mrs. Henderson in the doorway,and they get chatting with each other.
史蒂文在门口遇见汉德森太太，他们就聊起天来。
Steven: Hi, Mrs. Henderson.
史蒂文：你好啊，汉德森太太。
Mrs. Henderson: Hi, Steven. Do you have time and chat with me?
汉德森太太：你好，史蒂文。你有时间和我聊聊吗?
Steven: Of course I have plenty of time. What's new?
史蒂文：当然，我有的是时间。有什么新鲜事吗?
Mrs. Henderson: The new couple next door divorced. Have you heared about it?
汉徳森太太：隔壁那对新婚夫妇离婚了，你听说了吗?
Steven: No. The Hills? Who filed for divorce first?
史蒂文：没有，希尔夫妇吗?谁提出的离婚呢?
Mrs. Henderson: I guess it is Mrs Hill. She sued for divorce on the grounds of her husband'smisconduct with his secretary.
汉徳森太太：我猜是希尔太太吧!她以希尔先生与秘书有染为由，提起离婚诉讼。
Steven: Oh, maybe not. It's just your guess. Do not give currency to idle gossip.
史蒂文：哦，或许不是吧。那只是你的猜想，不要传播闲言吧。
Mrs. Henderson: OK. I close my mouth.

Tom: Hello, Steven, what are you doing now?
