Do athletes make too much money? 运动员是否挣得太多?
Diego: Hello, this is Diego from Mexico.
迭戈：大家好，我是迭戈，来自墨西哥。
Elena: And Elena from Bulgaria.
埃琳娜：我是埃琳娜，来自保加利亚。
Diego: Today we're going to talk about whetherathletes make too much money or not.
迭戈：今天我们要讨论的问题是，运动员是否挣的太多。
Elena: So do you think they make too much money?
埃琳娜：你认为运动员挣钱太多吗?
Diego: I don't know. I guess people in entertainment generally make too much money. We'retalking about millions of dollars, a million dollar industry every year in advertising and all thesethings. But in a way if I think about artists like singers or musicians compared to athletes, Ithink athletes' earnings are more justified than general entertainment.

Diego: Because the athletes in the industry, they're setting an example for people, especiallykids to be healthier, to actually go out there and run around, play soccer, swimming, golf, anything. So they are actually encouraging society to be more healthy and proactive.

Elena: I guess you're right but in my opinion people getting paid that much money just torun around and have fun, I don't know.

Diego: Yeah, well I guess it's a bit more than just running around and having fun, like itactually takes a lot of dedication, time and effort to become a professional athlete.

Elena: I guess so but it takes dedication and time to become a professional anything, so Idon't know.

Tlotlo:And our question is do you believe in deathpenalty?

Reese:I think I do believe in death penalty.

Tlotlo:Why?

Reese:Because I feel that before you take the life of someone, you should know that your lifecould be taken as well.

Tlotlo:But don't you think it is the Will of God to give and take, not the decision of anotherperson to take someone else's life?

Reese:But I feel that if the death penalty is not in place then people will not consider the realreality of their actions. They will always be like if they just get life sentence then people can livein prison, you can live a good life in prison.

Tlotlo:How is that?

Reese:In prison you can do so much in prison nowadays. You can workout, you can study inprison if you want to.

Tlotlo:What are you saying? Are you saying being in prison is actually like a leisure becauseyou're putting it that way.

Reese:What I'm saying is it's not as bad as losing your life so people won't think of it, if we goto the extent of killing someone then your life must not be that good anyway.

Tlotlo:No-one should ever have to pass judgement and no-one should ever have to make sucha decision, especially one that involves taking the life of someone else. It is not our will and itshould never be. God can only decide that thing for us but we cannot. I totally disagree withyou.

Reese:I feel that if you're going to take it as written by God, do unto others as you want to bedone unto yourself.

Tlotlo:I think you are using God's words in vain. That is not what he meant. What about thewords that he says. What about forgiving? What about that?

Tlotlo:Yes, forgiving.

Reese:I feel that if it's only prison then people don't see really how serious what they are doingis because losing your life and going to prison are two completely different things.

Phuong: OK. I really love Holland beside my own country because I think Holland is very nicecountry with good weather and I love it too. In Holland it is very famous for tulips so I thinkit's the place for me to come and also I think people in Holland are very nice and they are kindand warm, so I think that it's my favorite country beside my own country. How about you?

JM: For me, I'd have to say it's Canada.

JM: Yeah. A few years ago I lived there for about four or five months with my sister who lives inToronto and it's a really, really nice place. It's a great city, people there are really, reallyfriendly, they are very nice so I like it there. Also the weather is very cold, because I live in thePhilippines so it's always hot and warm so I kind of like the really, really cold weather.
JM：对。几年以前，我在我姐姐家住了四五个月，我姐姐家在多伦多，那里的确是个非常不错的地方。多伦多是座很棒的城市，那里的人们非常非常友好，他们人很好，所以我喜欢那里。而且多伦多非常寒冷，而我生活的菲律宾一直很热，温度很高，我喜欢那种非常寒冷的天气。
