托福阅读解析之二：为什么要关注例子所在段的段落大意

　　一篇文章一般只有一个主标题和一个中心思想，文章每段有各自的段落大意，段落大意均起到烘托文章中心思想的作用，那么如何体现每段段落大意?每段各自的论证对象体现每段的段落大意。例子用于阐明所论证的对象，论证对象用于表达段落大意，所以例子间接体现段落大意。

　　接下来，通过TPO 24 – Lake Water中的一道修辞目的题来阐述，为什么要关注例子所在段的段落大意?

　　Residence times vary enormously. They range from a few days for small lakes up to several hundred years for large ones; Lake Tahoe, in California, has a residence time of 700 years.
