　　The oil from palms (棕榈树)has a wide variety of uses in many food and household products, but has caused heated debates because large areas of rainforest have been cleared to make way for large land to plant them. As the demand has grown, rainforests, particularly those in South East Asia, have suffered. Recently, an international team have found a gene (基因)that could make some of the trees produce more oil than others, through analyzing the crop’s DNA.
