一、增加词汇
英语写作要求有一定量的词汇，没有词汇就好比巧妇无米难以下厨。写作时可能出现要写的词记不起来、要用的词拿不准、尤其是遇到同义词、更不知用哪一个好、或词性没记住，结果乱用……. 这都说明平时对单词的记忆不够牢固，理解不清。

首先，我们要在学习的过程中注意“一意多词”的讲解。有些单词有多个意思，有些意思可以使用多个单词来表示。注意高频词的一意多词讲解，用不同的词语造同一个句子，并养成良好的学习习惯。那么，在写作的时候，自然而然就能有多个词汇来表达同一个意思。
我们在概括文章的summary的时候都会按格式地写“This article mainly tells us……”，每个同学表示“文章”这个词语都是用article的话，评卷老师自然觉得太过一般。如果换用一个词“passage”或者“essay”不就给人耳目一新的感觉了吗?同样的一个意思，多次用同一个单词来表示，相信自己都会觉得累赘，感到审美疲劳，这样一篇文章，当然拿不了高分。
此外，我们还要注重一意多词中高级词汇的学习，熟悉英语的人都知道，词汇当然有高低之分。同一个意思，低级词汇是常见的，词义稍微有偏差的。同理，高级词汇则是生活没有那么常见的。如果说risk是表示冒险的意思，那么adventure岂不是表达得更为准确?
在写作过程中，如果说句子和文章结构是重点的话，那么，这26个小字母组成的词汇就是细节。细节决定成败，词汇量大，文章一定不会差到哪里去。
2注意优秀句型的模仿

一篇好的文章，一定量的词汇，好的句型自然不能少。英语美文，不仅是美在思想，同时也美在好的结构，优美的句子，切中要点的词汇。我们在翻阅书籍的过程中，也要注意收录优美的句子。在写作过程中，拿出自己收集的好词佳句来与其他同学分享，也不失为一个提高写作技巧的好方法。
优秀的句型必然有其可取之处。不是所有的长句子都是好句子，不是所有复杂的句子都是好句子。如果能言简意赅地表达出它的意思，必能取胜。分析句子不是纯粹的词汇解析，更重要的是时态分析以及主谓宾、定状补的解释说明。在一个经典句型的分析后，我们必须训练句型模仿能力。在感叹句的解析中，我们都有两个特殊疑问词“How”和“What”来引导。多美好的一天，“How fine a day it is!”以及“What a fine day it is!”均可表示上述句子的意思。多翻译，多造句!另外，如果仅仅只是把“fine”改变的话，当然没有起到我们预想的作用。“How fine a day it is!”感叹美好的一天，“How handsome the boy he is!”感叹帅气的男孩，“What a lovely cat she is!”表达对可爱小猫的赞叹……用这个句型，把它的内容变形为其他内容的描述才是王道，才符合初中英语课程的要求。
3注意英语的思维方式
入乡随俗的道理大家都是知道的，因此，学习英语我们也要“入乡随俗”——用英语的思维写作文嘛~
英语的思维方式是在小学初接触英语的时候就被教师所提倡的。学习一门语言类的学科，如果只是记些单词的表达，翻译一些句子，这是可悲的!在考场中，甚至是在日常的生活中，学会用英语的思维来写一篇作文，不仅能减少语法上的错误，增强句子的流畅程度，也能变无话可说、无事可写为有话可说，能大大地减少写作时间。
在学校里都能说一种以上的语言，普通话是交流的基础语言，还有各地的方言、广东话、上海话、闽南话等。我们也不是生来就会说普通话，更不是生来就会用中文造句写作文。那是因为在成长过程中，我们不断被引导着用这种思维来思考问题。也是因为习惯了中文的思维方式才能够出口成章。所以，在英语写作技巧的教学过程中，我们必须重视英语思维的培养。
