　　1、Research the topic 寻找主题

　　主题是一篇文章的基础。上网、去图书馆、收集前辈的学术文章资料、看报纸等等都是很好的收集资料途径。对于一个不熟悉的主题，可以事先上维基百科(英文版)等网站查看介绍。

　　2、Analyze well-written essays 分析写得好的文章

　　在查找资料的过程中，相信你会看到一些妙笔生花的好文章。仔细研究一下他们是怎么写的：“作者的观点是什么?这篇文章是哪里让你觉得好，写作手法、论据还是结构?作者是怎么论证的，阐述事实还是讲个故事?”等等，这些都是学习一篇文章的途径。

　　3、Brainstorm your own ideas 自己的想法

　　当然你也可以用他人的想法支持你自己的观点。前提是你得把这些想法都重新整合为你自己的。

　　4、Pick your thesis statement 选择你要阐述的论点

　　你一定想出了不少点子吧。但是过多的论点只会让你的文章看起来很冗长。此时我们就需要选择出一些最有说服力、最贴近你的主题的想法。并且你需要找些资料、证据来支持你的观点。

　　5、Plan your essay 计划你的文章

　　有计划才能有高效率。正式落笔之前，你需要想好你的文章大纲：开头、主要观点、分观点以及支持它的材料(一般来说我们会举3个例子)和总结。
