　　用作名词 (n.) 时的用法：

　　一.in practice

　　1.在实践中,实际上 in fact

　　It sounded like a good idea, but in practice it didn't work.

　　这听起来像是个好主意,但做起来却行不通。

　　What it means in practice is that he does twice the work for half the money.

　　这实际上意味着他做两倍工作却只拿一半报酬。

　　2.在不断练习中; 熟练的 having spent time doing practice

　　She can speak English fluently as she is always in practice.

　　她一直在练习,所以英语讲得很流利。

　　3.在开业中 running business

　　He is a physician in practice.

　　他是执业医生。

　　Taylor was in practice with two colleagues.

　　二.out of practice

　　疏于练习 not having spent time doing practice

　　She was out of practice at singing.

　　她对歌唱荒疏了。

　　I haven't played tennis for years, so I'm really out of practice.

　　我已经多年不打网球,技术已经完全生疏了。

　　三.put〔carry〕 into practice

　　实施,实行 actually do sth (that was previously only planned〔thought about〕)

　　put〔carry〕 sth into practice

　　We have discussed the plan continually for several weeks; now the time has come to put it into practice.我们已连续好几个星期讨论这计划了,现在到了付诸实施的时候了。

　　用作动词时的用法：

　　一、及物动词 vt.

　　1. 实践,实行

　　What I preach, I am resolved to practice.

　　我所讲的道理,我必定身体力行。

　　2. 练习,实习;训练

　　The young girl practices the violin every day.

　　这小女孩每天练习拉小提琴。

　　3. 经常做

　　We should practice economy even if we are rich.

　　既使我们富裕了也仍应该励行节约。

　　4. 开业从事

　　He has practiced law in Taipei for 30 years.

　　他在台北做律师已有三十年。

　　二、不及物动词 vi.

　　1. 实践,实行 2. 练习,实习

　　I don't think you practice enough.

　　我认为你练习不够。

　　3. (医生,律师等)开业[(+as)]

　　He practices as a lawyer in Hong Kong.

　　他在香港当律师。
